Two Detentions Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
